Honda Accord Owners Can Add Wireless Apple CarPlay for $112-Plus

  • Honda has announced a software update for the last-gen Accord that adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • The new dealer-installed option applies to 2018–2022 Accord models originally equipped with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • The software update costs $112 (plus labor), and Honda says about 631,000 Accords are eligible.

The Honda Accord has earned a spot on Car and Driver’s annual 10Best list for a record 38 times, which includes the new 11th-generation that debuted for the 2023 model year. The newest Accord arrived with prettier styling and better features that include a slicker infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on models with the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. While the previous generation only offered wired CarPlay and Android Auto, Honda today announced a way for owners to retrofit a wireless connection.

People who already own a 2018 to 2022 Honda Accord that’s equipped with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which was standard with the 8.0-inch touchscreen, can have the wireless version installed by a dealer. The feature itself costs $112, but that price doesn’t include the unspecified labor fee.

For anyone who’s shopping for a certified-pre-owned Accord from the last generation, there’s now even more incentive to buy. That’s because Honda says it will have the software updated installed free of charge on eligible CPO models. Overall, the company says there are about 631,000 last-gen Accords that are eligible for the dealer-installed software update.
